 About Us


Thanks for dropping in on our website, it’s good to welcome you. It would also be good to welcome you at one of the many events and services we hold at our church. We’re a friendly bunch who believe that getting to know God is exciting and should involve laughing, having fun and eating!!

At the Nativity we try to help each other to develop our potential, achieve our aspirations and meet our needs. We also visit the ill, the elderly and welcome those seeking asylum.

Our overall aim at the Nativity is to make a real positive difference in the lives of the people of Aylestone Park, enabling local people to more fully develop their potential, meet their aspirations and address their needs.

We engage with the community

The Church hosts local residents groups meetings and community consultation groups. Church members are also active in supporting local charities and exploring activities with young people.

The Church has a history of community involvement and concern through its membership.  Church members already have strong, active links with the local community including visiting the housebound, the ill and the elderly, supporting local residents, helping in charity shops, and befriending refugees. 

We care about the environment

The Church of the Nativity is an Eco-Congregation and our environmental activities are currently concentrated in the areas of worship, recycling, youth activities and community and global initiatives.  The Nativity is also a registered Fairtrade Church with both the Leicester Diocese of the Church of England and the Leicester Trinity Circuit of the Methodist Church.

We worship God

  • Weekly Sunday Services commencing at 10.30 am.
     

  • Occasional evening services commencing at 6.30 p.m.
     

  • A Tuesday Fellowship group which enables people to meet on a weekly basis for prayer and fellowship;
     

  • Organisation of Bible Study Groups;
     

  • An active pastoral system with a group of dedicated pastoral leaders who work with the Ministers in the care of the sick and disabled within the local community;
     

  • Provision of active support to local schools.

We have concern for others

  • We sell fair-trade products after all our services and at church events

  • We support the 'Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box'  appeal
    by sending Christmas gifts abroad

  • We collect old spectacles for use in other countries

  • We recycle ink cartridges to support the purchase of goats

  • We collect used stamps for Amnesty International

  • The Nativity has an active and forward thinking Community Outreach and Mission Team who are responsible for:-
     

    • The missionary and charitable activities within the church

    • Organisation of the ‘eco-congregation’ side of the church’s activities.
